I like these shorts. The gray ones run a little large or the indigo ones a little small. The gray XXL were huge on me, but the XL just right. So I ordered a pair of indigo in XL and they were skin tight. Sent them back and ordered XXL—we’ll see how that shakes out. Two things keep me from giving these five stars: With the patch pockets, if you sit in an upholstered chair or on a couch, the angle means whatever is in the pocket falls out. The kind of shorts with a traditional pocket (sewn inside, like most with sweatpants) would be a big improvement. The second thing is the lack of a back pocket. I knew these didn’t have one when I bought them and figured I’d just put my wallet in one of the cargo pockets. Turns out that tugs the shorts down, where a back pocket that sits up higher and closer to the body doesn’t. Otherwise, comfortable and seemingly well-made shorts. I’ll keep checking back to see whether these ever get upgraded and go from good to great.
